A Contemporary Barn Defined by Material Restraint and Architectural Clarity

“This home by Hatch Architects is both a place of refuge and a place to connect with nature. Sunlight dances across natural timber and stone, connecting indoor and outdoor spaces, while textures and materials evoke a sense of calm, grounding, and timeless simplicity.”

Located within the established streets of Randwick, Barn House is a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional barn form. Designed by Mona Hashemi of Hatch Architects, the residence balances strong, legible geometry with a restrained material palette that brings warmth, texture and longevity to the architecture.

Natural stone is used throughout the project as a grounding element — not as decoration, but as a deliberate architectural device that unifies form, landscape and function across the site.

Why Lavarosa Limestone is a Timeless Choice for Outdoor Living

Natural limestone has long been valued for its warmth, texture and durability. In Australian outdoor design, it remains one of the most reliable and visually grounded material choices — particularly around pools, alfresco zones and landscaped spaces.

Lavarosa Limestone Tiles bring together soft earthy tones, subtle fossilisation and finishes designed specifically for outdoor conditions. The result is natural stone that feels established from the outset and continues to perform over time.

The Natural Appeal of Summit Stone Wall Cladding

Natural stone wall cladding has been used in architecture for centuries — not because it follows trends, but because it endures. Its texture, weight and permanence are qualities manufactured materials struggle to replicate.

Summit Stone Wall Cladding brings that authenticity to contemporary Australian homes. With its rock-faced texture and organic variation, it delivers the depth of traditional stonework in a format suited to both interior and exterior applications.
