This year we welcome the new PANTONE Colour of the Year, 18-3838 Ultra Violet into our realm of colour for all things design with the expectation it will trend throughout 2018 and beyond.

“A dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade, PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.” www.pantone.net.au

As Pantone suggests, ultra violet has often been associated with futuristic or cosmic scenes, unconventionality and the mystical. Pantone Colour Institute’s Vice President, Laurie Pressman, says it’s about more than influencing design trends.

“The Pantone Colour of the Year has come to mean so much more than ‘what’s trending’ in the world of design; it’s truly a reflection of what’s needed in our world today.” – Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Colour Institute.

What better way to centre such a strong and bold colour than with the subtle and neutral tones of natural stone. Warm creams and beige and earthy browns such as those in Sareen Stone’s limestones and travertines and cool whites and grey tones found in our range of granite and marble, complement PANTONE 18-3838 perfectly.

Sareen Stone’s range of porcelains, including our timber lookalikes, will also offer a stunning combination, whether you incorporate Ultra Violet as a statement or an accessory in the final design.
